Injuries: 5

  1. 12/07/10  Whilst trying to modify a piece of fuel hose, Bronson slices open his hand with a stanley knife.  Result, 3 stitches (and no washing up for almost 3 weeks!).
  2. 15/11/10  Not really an injury, more of an incident.  Bronson had to perform a tick removal procedure on Ruth!  We came across a few of these little buggers at Bittangabee Bay and one attached itself to Ruth's back.  A quick call to Dr Dave for some advice, out with the tweezers and the tick was thwarted!
  3. 24/02/11 Contusion to the left ring finger.  Injury sustained while Ruth decided she could wrangle the mud crabs out of the bucket (before we put them in the freezer!).  Wow those buggers can bite and hang on!
  4. 26/04/11 Ruth put a ding in Lulu's passenger door at Alligator Creek whilst trying to make camp.
  5. 25/05/11 Number 4 Crazy Charlie to Ruth's right middle finger.  Trip to Townsville hospital ensued!

Visitors: Too many if you include the bugs!

  1. On the shake down run to Cockle Creek we encountered a rather curious currawong who saw fit to leave us with several souvenirs conveniently placed on the driver's seat, the passenger floor and various parts of the dash board.
  2. Also on the Cockle Creek trip a tiger cat woke us up repeatedly whilst trying to steal our rubbish bag from inside the annex.
  3. This one wasn't a visitor to Lulu but I had to mention the giant geckos we encountered in the compound we stayed at whilst having our job interviews.  They were about eight inches long and their calling could be heard from over 100 metres away.  We had one living in the roof of our unit!
  4. A dirty great big lace monitor that wandered by the camp!
  5. Tabacco thieving crow at Muellers's inlet.  Think he might have a hankering for a durrie and took off with the goods.
  6. Possum at Bournda NP broke into the annex in the middle of the night.
  7. Itchy arsed wombat at Island Bend on the snowy river!
  8. Sticky beaking pair of possums at Mimosa Rocks.
  9. Peron's tree frog that was quite taken with our camo doona in the back of Lulu.
  10. A wasp that built a nest under our table at Archer Point
  11. The fly rod Chewing rat that hitched a ride from Carmila to Eurimbula
  12. A couple of nosy possums at Carmila

Famous People Spotted:

  1. The Jonses!  Ok so they're not that famous but they're on tv so it counts!  We saw them at Melbourne airport on our way to Thailand.
  2. Molly Meldrum and a host of cricketers, Mark Taylor, Glenn McGrath, Damian Flemming and Brendan Julian.  Spotted on our flight from Sydney back to Melbourne.  It was Melbourne cup day so we guessed that's where they were all headed.
  3. Master chef winner Adam.  Spotted this dude at Melbourne airport on our way home.
  4. Corrine Grant.  Spotted shopping in Sydney.
